Description

The Sákárà is a shallow, circular frame drum from southwestern Nigeria, traditionally used by the Yorùbá and Hausa people. It features a goat skin head stretched over a baked clay body, held with twine and tuned using wooden pegs. It is played with a stick while being held on the lap, often in ensembles for weddings, festivals, and highlife/sákárà music.
